Key Requirements for AAMA 2605 & 2604 powder applications:

- AAMA 2605 requires that the powder coating maintains its color and gloss after 10 years of exposure to outdoor conditions without significant fading, chalking, or erosion.
- AAMA 2604 requires that the powder coating maintains its color and gloss after five years of outdoor exposure without significant fading, chalking, or erosion.
- Color Retention: The powder coating should exhibit excellent color retention and resist color change or shift due to UV radiation or environmental exposure.
- Gloss Retention: The gloss level of the coating should remain within acceptable limits after long-term exposure, ensuring the coated surfaces retain their aesthetic appeal.
- Film Integrity: The coating must exhibit excellent adhesion to the substrate and resist cracking, peeling, or delamination.
- Chemical Resistance: AAMA 2605 powder coatings should demonstrate resistance to chemicals, pollutants, and other substances commonly found in the environment.
- Salt Spray Resistance: The coating is subjected to salt spray testing to evaluate its corrosion resistance and ability to protect the underlying metal substrate.
